Chochołowskie Termy calls itself the largest thermal baths in Poland: almost 4,500 square metres of water in 52 pools, indoor and outdoor, filled with mineral-rich water and kept at 32 to 38 °C on the venue’s own readings. Besides the main pools there is a therapeutic zone with raw sulphide and brine water, a children’s zone with slides, a quiet zone for over-16s, a separate swimming pool, a sauna world called Saunarium, a spa and a restaurant. Google Maps lists it as “Chochołowskie Termy”, which is the name to type into a taxi app.

Is it worth it?

If you want a day in the mountains that ends warm, yes. Three hours is long enough for the outdoor pools, the therapeutic zone and the slides, and in winter the steam over the outdoor pools against the snow is much of the point. It is a big leisure complex with slides and a children’s zone rather than a quiet spa, and the weekend price is 20 złoty higher. If quiet is what you want, a weekday ticket with the Saunarium supplement, or the adults-only spa zone that Best Krakow’s day sells at Terma Bania, is the better bet.

Other thermal baths near Zakopane

Podhale has several thermal complexes. Terma Bania in Białka Tatrzańska, Termy Bukovina in Bukowina Tatrzańska and Termy Gorący Potok and Termy Szaflary near Szaflary are all within a short drive of Zakopane, and Termy Zakopiańskie is in the town itself, 1.5 km by road from Krupówki. The Kraków day tours we found go to Chochołowskie Termy, except Best Krakow’s, which goes to Terma Bania. The tour price guide compares them all.
